Used to Think, Now I Think
Purpose:
Overview:
This process supports learners’ reflections about how their understanding or thinking has shifted after exploring or learning about a concept or idea.
Procedure:
- Invite learners to reflect on:
- something they thought prior to learning (I used to think…) and
- something they know or understand after learning (Now I think…).
Materials:
Index cards or sticky notes or an exit slip or a graphic organizer such as Used to Think, Now I Think
Variations:
Combine with Think-Pair-Share
