One-Day Strike for Lloydminster, Horizon Teachers March 22

March 19, 2024
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation is giving notice of a one-day rotating strike by members of the Lloydminster Teachers’ Association and Horizon Teachers’ Association on Friday, March 22. By law, 48-hours’ notice is required for job action; however, the STF is providing extra time to allow families to make arrangements.

The job action will affect all schools in the Lloydminster Public, Lloydminster Catholic and Horizon school divisions. This one-day strike by teachers is in addition to the previously announced provincewide withdrawal of extracurricular activities on the same day.

Since January, more than 300,000 emails and phone calls have been made to MLAs, locally elected school board trustees and leadership of the Saskatchewan School Boards Association asking them to push the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee back to the table with a mandate to negotiate class size and complexity.
