COVID-19: Saskatchewan Teachers Speak Out

Mental Health and Well-Being

Is Saskatchewan ready to support a safe return to schools this fall? Teachers aren’t so sure.

The Canadian Teachers’ Federation invited Saskatchewan teachers to participate in a survey entitled Canadian Teachers Responding to Coronavirus (COVID-19) to explore the impact of COVID-19 on educators and students.

More than 1,500 Saskatchewan teachers responded, which represents about 11 percent of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation membership. Teachers want to get back into their classes, but are concerned about doing so safely and in way that ensures equitable learning opportunities for all.

Too many questions remain unanswered. The uncertainty is creating undue stress for Saskatchewan families. We all want to get this right and it is imperative for all educational partners to work together.

Teachers with outstanding concerns should contact the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation. Concerned students, caregivers and community members are encouraged to speak up and share your concerns with your school division.
