Join us for a dynamic workshop tailored to upper elementary literacy teachers seeking to enhance their instructional toolkit! This session delves into research-based practices supporting reading and writing, through a focus on bridging strategies for deeper understanding at the word, sentence and text levels. Walk away with practical, ready-to-use techniques and resources to optimize your literacy instruction and empower your students to become confident, proficient readers.

Participants will: 

  • Explore the foundational connections and bridging strategies between word reading skills and language comprehension that allow students to move deeper into text comprehension across content areas.
  • Experience teaching strategies for multi-syllabic word analysis and vocabulary, morphology and syntax instruction for increased comprehension across curricula.

Audience: Grades 3-8 educators

Workshop Cost (includes GST, materials and lunch):

Registration closes 2 business days prior to the event. Payment must accompany registration. The refund deadline for all workshops and events is 10 business days prior to the start date. Registrants who withdraw prior to the refund deadline are entitled to a full refund or transfer of their registration fee.
