Supporting Writers in the Early Years
Thank you to Prairie South School Division for hosting this provincial workshop!
Come explore ways to support student success through playful exploration, scaffolding from speech to print and frequent, engaging opportunities for writing across the curricula and school day.
Participants will:
- Explore play, oral story-telling and patterned texts as strategies for scaffolding supports for the writing process.
- Examine the curriculum writing scope and sequence for moving from speech to print, with letters and sounds and beyond.
- Examine strategies for student use of self-assessment and goal setting and co-construction of criteria for good writing at the primary level.
Audience: Pre- K, Kindergarten-Grade 2 educators

Registration closes 2 business days prior to the workshop. Payment must accompany registration. The refund deadline for all workshops and events is 10 business days prior to the start date. Registrants who withdraw prior to the refund deadline are entitled to a full refund or transfer of their registration fee.
