Think-Pair-Share

Think Pair share

Purpose:

Supporting Thinking

Overview:

This process supports thinking through reflection time and sharing with a partner before sharing to a larger group.

Procedure:

  1. Pose a question or prompt and invite learners to think on their own.
  2. Then, have learners talk to an elbow partner about their ideas.
  3. Invite sharing to a small group or to the room.
    • Sharing to the large room can be structured or unstructured. Unstructured sharing provides an open space for anyone to share in no particular order. In structured sharing, the order of sharing is pre-determined.
