Walk and Talk
Purpose:
Additional Purpose(s):
Generating and Sharing Ideas, Building Relationships
Overview:
This process provides a safe context for discussing ideas before sharing, discussing new ideas or content and making connections to past learning or experiences, synthesizing new learning, or applying learning to a new context.
Procedure:
- Pose a question or provide a prompt that invites discussion.
- Invite learners to walk around the room (or outside) and share their thinking in response to the question or prompt.
- Provide a time frame to learners for their discussions. When this time is up, ask them to rejoin the group.
- Invite pairs to share key ideas from their discussions with the large group.
