Provincial Bargaining

A Teachers’ Bargaining Committee, appointed by the Executive of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, negotiates on behalf of all members the collective issues related to direct compensation, teaching and learning conditions, and pension and benefits including:

• Salaries of teachers
• Allowances for principals and vice-principals
• Superannuation
• Group life insurance
• Criteria for designation of persons as being out of scope
• Duration of agreement
• Sick leave
• Any matters related to or necessary for the implementation of the above issues

Provincial negotiations may include other matters the parties agree to negotiate at the provincial level. The local agreement takes precedence when an item is first negotiated locally and is subsequently negotiated provincially.
